Corvette died while driving, had to be towed home :-(
Luckily I was only ten minutes away.

After troubleshooting we found out that some of the electronics in the distributor was dead.
Had a spare HEI distributor, replaced the parts. Now we are back on the road again. :-)

Off to get the front bumper painted.

&
another parts car.

Bought this one for the engine, a 5.7 liter V8.
Car is a rust bucket, so after removing
the good parts it's off to the junkyard.

Engine has a lot of goodies and it really makes this wagon go.
It has the classic GM original hi-perf (“fuelie” - "double hump") heads.
You could get these on Corvettes in the sixties. In Norway we call them "Mikke Mus" heads.
It also has a special cam, aluminum intake and a Holley 4-barrel carb. I will save it as a spare for my Corvette.

I will update this page with the progress on the engine, some of the Caprice parts I will use on our "Camper".

Click image below for moviefile, turn up the volume.

Bought it close to Halden. On our way to pick it up we dropped by Phoenix US Cars in Tonsberg.

Working on the spare engine.
Inpecting the "inside". Looks very nice and clean.
Adding new oil and filter, new distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires.
Next up is cutting the spark plug wires to correct length and align them nicely.
