Weekend skate tour

My youngest son Fredrik (13) and two of his friends
wanted to visit selected skateparks between Kristiansand and Oslo.
That young they needed a driver so I volunteered to drive on one condition.
On our way east we had to visit my favorite used car dealer in Tonsberg, Phoenix US Cars... :-)

***** 07 November - 2011 *****
Swapping some good parts from the '78 Caprice parts car that I just bought.

Bought this one for the engine, a 5.7 liter V8.
Car is a rust bucket, so after removing
the good parts it's off to the junkyard.

Engine has a lot of goodies and it really makes this wagon go.
It has the classic GM original hi-perf (“fuelie” - "double hump") heads.
You could get these on Corvettes in the sixties. In Norway we call them "Mikke Mus" heads.
It also has a special cam, aluminum intake and a Holley 4-barrel carb. I will save it as a spare for my '75 Corvette.

Work in progress.

Swapping the steering wheel, the black one on my '88 looks terrible.
Luckily the parts car had the same interior color and the steering wheel was in good condition.

The hood ornament on my '88 was broken, and good on the '78.

Removing usable parts.

Removing the rear axle. Some shiny parts showed up.

Springs and the air adjustable shocks looks relatively new.

A rust bucket with some usable parts.

Yes, I would love to live in Arizona and have my own junkyard. :-)
