1971 De Tomaso

A contribution by Matthias Zabel from Hamburg, Germany

Alejandro DeTomaso in front of the Ford headquarters USA.
In the early 1970s, Ford distributed Panteras in the US via the Lincoln/Mercury dealers.
Americans liked the car very much (due to its trouble-free American mechanics), and some thousands (!) Panteras
were shipped to the US. Soon, they learned to dislike the car for poor building quality. Finally, Ford gave up the distribution.
Today many of those cars have been restored, and the poor quality parts have often been changed to high quality aftermarked parts.
