1936 Ford 5 window coupe
&
1939 Plymouth convertible coupe

Owner: Bill Steed from Southern California

The '36 Ford I have had for over 57 years.
The b/w picture was taken in 1961 when the car still had '40 Chevy
headlights in lieu of the original Ford lights. The car appears to be stock,
however it is highly modified with mostly 1948 Merc mechanical components and a lot
of period correct speed equipment. During the time period that I was active in hot rodding,
late '40's early '50's, we were not interested in polished billet engines accessories, we just wanted them to go fast.

My 1939 Plymouth conv cpe.
I found this car sitting in a field in Montana where it had sat
for thirty-eight years. I restored it as a "resto-rod" i.e. looks stock but has all late
model mechanical components. The Plymouth is one of 36 known '39 Plym conv.s to exist in the world..
